RESTAURANT SHIFT MANAGER

In this role, you will work both at the hotel reception and in our á la carte restaurant AIKA Kitchen & Bar. Our shift managers form a supervisory team alongside the Hotel Manager and the Restaurant Operations Manager. Your work approach is meticulous, and you are capable of managing large operations. You have previous experience in a hotel-restaurant environment and have earlier supervisory experience. You are familiar with working independently and responsibly, and you are not afraid to take on operational challenges. You lead your team with precision and joy.

In your professional life, you get inspired by international travel, genuine encounters, and an uncompromising commitment to quality and detail. You are interested in both the operations of a high-end boutique hotel and leading a quality à la carte restaurant with your team. Outdoor experiences are a part of your daily life, and you want to offer our guests the best of Kilpisjärvi’s unique nature.

In addition to routine tasks, restaurant shift manager’s responsibilities include onboarding and training staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of work shifts, and overseeing restaurant orders, inventories, and cash reconciliations.

Depending on your interests, we will involve you in the development of service processes and product development. Compulsory in shift manager role: Fluent Finnish (written and spoken), Finnish hygiene and alcohol pass. We are offering a permanent job and positions will be filled as soon as a suitable candidates are found.

HOTEL AND RESTAURANT WORKER

In this role, you will work both in reception and in our á la carte restaurant AIKA Kitchen & Bar. Our dedicated front house team plays the key role ensuring our guests will enjoy their holiday and all their wishes are met. You are a flexible and guest-oriented team player who enjoy versatile job description. You can multitask and handle pressure, still making sure our guests get genuine and warm guest experience.

Your daily duties in reception will include checking guest in and out, telling them about the hotel and surrounding areas, selling and helping to book outdoor experiences among other services, taking care of guest communication via email and other booking channels. Your daily duties in restaurant will include serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, taking care of cleaning, dishes and running a lounge bar. Above all, you’re here to help our guests enjoy their arctic holiday experience.

This job is for you who already have experience working in a hotel and á ala carte restaurant. You can be in the beginning of your career – we will train all employees and willing to learn and grow are the most important factors. Finnish language skills are not mandatory, but a plus. Finnish hygiene and alcohol pass are compulsory in this position.

We are offering a temporary job for winter season, starting in December and ending in March-April.

À LA CARTE CHEF

In this role, you will work alongside the head chef in the kitchen and your main responsibilities are taking care of smooth dinner service and ensuring that food products are prepared to high quality standards. Daily duties include prepping á ala carte dishes before the dinner and working independently during the dinner service, both in hot and cold station.

This position is for you who already have experience working in a high quality á la carte restaurant and you have experience working in all sections of the kitchen. You have understanding about sustainable approach and using Nordic and local ingredients. You are flexible and have an ability to work efficiently under the pressure and in fast changing situations. Finnish language skills are not mandatory, but a plus. Finnish hygiene pass is compulsory in this position.

BREAKFAST CHEF

As a breakfast chef your main responsibility is to prepare and cook breakfast in the morning. You will take care that the food is prepared in high quality standard and food waste is minimized. During the breakfast your responsibility is to keep the breakfast buffet clean and full, help front house colleague cleaning tables and doing the dishes. Work will include prepping next day’s breakfast and helping kitchen team in other meal preparations.

This position is for you who have earlier experience working in a kitchen environment. You understand the basics of cooking and preparing the food. You have precise work approach and willingness to help others in daily duties. Finnish language skills are not mandatory, but a plus. Finnish hygiene pass is compulsory in this position.

What should I know before applying

REQUIRED LINCENSES & PERMITS

Please note that multiple positions require Finnish alcohol and hygiene pass. In addition to this, all applicants need to have a valid EU work permit.

HOUSING AND SALARY

SCHEDULE

Our recruitment will end 30th of September, but all positions will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found – remember to apply now!
Our winter season starts in the beginning of December and all contracts will start earliest in end of November and latest before Christmas holidays in December. Winter season contracts will end in March-April, latest in the beginning of May.
