Our surrounding vast wilderness is one of the last untouched wilderness areas in our planet. To be able to pass this also to the future generations we take actions to operate in responsible way. To support us in our journey we have joined to a path towards Green Key- certification which we will achieve in October 2024. After this we continue our path towards Sustainable Travel Finland- certification. These goals and certifications helps us to improve our actions towards sustainability even more than we are making at the moment.
Sustainability has been a part of our daily actions since Cahkal was founded. Examples of these actions are: geothermal heating, solar power and charging stations for electric vehicles. In our restaurant Aika Kitchen & Bar we favor local suppliers and ingredients. Local delicacies such as Garden angelica and birch grows next to Cahkal creek and is used in desserts and cocktails. Untapped biowaste is composted and we use the mold in our greenhouse where we grow herbs for the use in drinks and food served from Aika Kitchen & Bar.
