The First Touch of Arctic Winter

November brings the first quiet magic of winter to Kilpisjärvi. Snow begins to soften the fell landscape, the nights grow long and peaceful, and Lake Kilpisjärvi may freeze into a beautiful sheet of clear ice. When the skies are cloudless, the Northern Lights may dance above this early-winter wonderland.

Our all-inclusive 3- and 4-night Early Winter packages invite you to discover the changing season through carefully selected adventures. Try ice fishing, meet reindeer at a local farm and learn about Sámi culture, then head into the darkness on snowshoes in search of Arctic nature and, with luck, the aurora borealis. Guests staying four nights will also enjoy a guided hike filled with local stories and a warming break by the campfire.

After each day outdoors, return to Cahkal for Nordic-inspired dining, the warmth of our panoramic sauna and the comfort of your beautiful room.
