Snow covers the ground from November until May. First snow flakes usually fall down in November when polar night time begins. Polar night period lasts until mid January. During this period sun doesn’t rise above the horizon but staying just below the horizon it colours the sky with incredible pastel colours during the day. In the evenings you can witness the amazing arctic phenomenon, The northern lights.

WILDERNESS ADVENTURE – Back-country skiing

4-night stay in Cahkal View room Elegant twin or double accommodation with the best mountain views in Kilpisjärvi. Located on the second floor of the main building, the rooms are allergy-friendly.
Breakfast, lunch, and three-course dinner every day, served at Aika Restaurant by Cahkal. Soup lunch in thermoses is available on request for those who wish to enjoy lunch outdoors.
Three days guided skiing with our local guides. Choose between off-piste ski touring or fell skiing in Finland and Norway. On-site transportation is included.
