When temperatures get too hot in the south, it’s time to head above the Arctic Circle. In Kilpisjärvi, we enjoy mild temperatures, fresh waters and magic of the midnight sun.

Explore endless hiking routes in three different countries, take a dip in fresh waters of Kilpisjärvi or Arctic Ocean and admire sun that does not set for over two months.

Relaxing Autumn

Experience the magic of autumn in Kilpisjärvi, when the surrounding fells are painted in brilliant shades of gold, orange and crimson. This is our favourite hiking season, offering crisp air, peaceful trails and breathtaking scenery dressed in vibrant autumn colours. As the evenings grow darker, the Northern Lights return to dance across the Arctic sky.

Our 2-night Relaxing Autumn Package is designed for those who enjoy exploring nature during the day and unwinding in comfort in the evening. Hike through the colourful wilderness, savour a seasonal three-course dinner and relax in our panoramic sauna while taking in the spectacular mountain views.

Late Summer Escape

In August, summer slowly begins to give way to autumn in Kilpisjärvi. The days are still bright, but the sun once again dips below the horizon and the evenings become darker. By late August, you may even catch the season’s first Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

Our 3-night Late Summer package invites you to enjoy the changing Arctic landscape through three carefully selected adventures. Hike alongside reindeer and their herder, travel across Lake Kilpisjärvi to the Three-Country Cairn and experience the tranquillity of nature on an evening hike.

After a day outdoors, return to Cahkal for Nordic-inspired dining, the warmth of our panoramic sauna and a cosy moment by the fireplace.

Your package includes:

After each adventure, return to Cahkal to enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, unwind in our panoramic sauna and relax in the comfort of your room.
